UZIC is back in business, and not just halfway. Since early 2025, the Lausanne-based web radio station dedicated to electronic music has been back on the air with a simple mission: to give space to artists who play electronic and alternative music. The momentum crystallized around the first mUZIC.radio festival in Lausanne and Geneva from August 18 to September 16, 2025, where UZIC radio took over FM airwaves and live venues to showcase DJs from French-speaking Switzerland, German-speaking Switzerland, Germany and France.
The next chapter begins now. In December 2026, UZIC is launching its radio residencies, weekly appointments at a fixed time hosted by a local or an international artist. The aim is not to “fill the schedule” but to recreate a club atmosphere at home! A recognizable sound made by gifted artists, programmed at the same time and who can represent UZIC. A sonic journey that will pass through several stages between downtempo, minimal, house, and hard techno.

The announced artists speak for themselves. Chris Kraus, a German DJ who cut his teeth in Cologne’s clubs, will be playing a deep/tech-house set every Friday during his 90-minute Afterwork session. His artistic career is rooted in minimal and tech-house, with own productions on Ableton Live that are as club-oriented as theys are polished. Stay tuned, because we’ll have the opportunity to listen to Chris Kraus’s creations in an upcoming episode of the 5tracks podcast.
Salvatore Freda, a DJ/producer active since the 1990s, is a former resident of the Loft and D! clubs, also founder of the Adrenogroov label. This iconic artist from Lausanne (Switzerland) has also released on prestigious labels such as Cadenza, Freerange, and Poker Flat. Because he loves to share his favorites, Salvatore will host a three-hour show every Saturday on UZIC, featuring Vinyl & Vintage, house and techno.
On weekends, UZIC radio goes underground. The Afterhours are entrusted to Manolo (Folklore), from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturdays, three hours of music mixed like an after-party to make the most of the last hours in the night! As for Box62, a community space where music and cultural projects intertwine, it is preparing a one-hour session of minimal and deep house every Saturday morning. Luca Mascolo from Fantastic Friends Recordings will be kicking things off next weekend!
On Sunday morning from 9 a.m., Jay Castelli will be spinning a four-hour set of downtempo and tech-house. Finally, every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., SickSpud takes over with (hard) techno. A long-time DJ and programmer for our radio station, he recently released a live act called “Pure Techno” in tribute to the recent mUZIC.radio festival.
UZIC radio: what’s new in 2026
Already looking at 2026? Okay, just a quick mention, as 2 other new developments are coming soon. Starting in January 2026, UZIC will be collaborating with the French platform SoundCast to introduce targeted audio advertising. This will enable us to generate revenue that can be shared with artists and other volunteers who make UZIC happen every day. Stay tuned for more information on this, in the next article.
Last but not least: for several months now, the UZIC team has been looking for a place to bring us all together… and welcome electronic music artists and fans! A space in the Lausanne metropolitan area—our stronghold—with a studio for working on audio productions or artist residencies, as well as cold drinks to welcome guests and artists. Just a little more patience before the official announcement!
