New schedule and new residents on UZIC radio!

Since February 1, 2026, programming has been back on UZIC! With a host of changes, including a new musical direction and four Swiss and European artists to support weekly alternative electronic music.

The new schedule: from minimal to techno

Until now, two words have summed up UZIC radio’s musical positioning: “techno” and “minimal.” Long-time listeners can rest assured that minimal and techno will continue to be the alpha and omega of our music programming. It is the space between these two foundations that we want to explore throughout the day:

  • Early in the morning, the Early music slot (5 a.m.-8 a.m.) starts off gently but rhythmically, with minimal, downtempo, and deep house.
  • Later in the morning (8 a.m.-12 p.m.), let’s keep on with deep house. With a few forays into minimal and tech house for more fun.
  • In the afternoon (12 p.m.-6 p.m.), we accompany the digestive phase with deep house that tends towards prog house and tech house.
  • For the Afterwork session (6pm-9pm), we start to let loose with tech-house, melodic techno, and upbeat minimal (we still have a few sets from the Roaring Twenties up our sleeves).
  • When night falls (9pm-5am), we bring out the heavy artillery with pure, hard techno!

That’s the plan, at least. There will of course be ups and downs, as with any phase of change. That’s why your feedback will be essential in refining our programmers’ choices.

UZIC radio’s new residents

Speaking of programmers, who are they? There are four of them, three of whom are new residents invited to join us for the next few months. Without further ado, let us introduce them:

Chris Kraus (DE) is a German DJ / producer active since 2004. Shaped by Cologne’s iconic club scene, he quickly stood out for his ability to read a crowd and build tension with precision. Known for sets that weave genres into immersive, high-energy journeys, he pairs finely tuned transitions with an authentic, modern sound. Chris schedules an Afterwork session every week on UZIC radio.

Jay Castelli (ES) started out as a dj in the late 90s. Quickly propelled into a club residency in Barcelona, he has collaborated with big names such as Carl Craig and Dimitri from Paris. As a talented music producer, he also crafts original tracks of pure house music. He schedules the program “Jay Castelli’s Kingdom” every weekday afternoon.

Manolo (CH) was resident DJ at Lausanne’s iconic club La Ruche, and later at Folklor. He first made his mark as part of several duos such as P.A.K.A., Lowrel & Hardy, and Coquoz & Bedaud. Today, he continues as a solo artist, delivering mesmerizing, groovy, and undeniably sexy minimal sets. As an electronic music enthusiast, Manolo takes care of the mornings between 5 a.m. and noon.

SickSpud (CH) is a dj, composer and producer. Musically, he likes to dabble in everything; from minimal, deep techno, tech-house, melodic techno, industrial to dark techno. UZIC programmer since years, he has been mixing in mythical Swiss clubs such as Love Zoo (Neuchâtel). He’s the one who gets the prime slot on the radio: at night! From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

We’ve come full circle. We hope you enjoy listening while you wait for our next articles, as we still have some announcements to make:

  • The launch of the UZIC radio iOS app! Those who love listening to music while driving will be delighted,
  • We haven’t forgotten about the promised article on advertising and how UZIC plans to use it: to promote electronic music and artists.
